I. Hate. The. Lord. Of. The. Rings. Music.

Plagioclase’s mother has been watching the extended DVDs of all three of The Lord of the Rings movies, as well as every single DVD extra. One disc a night for about the last three weeks. If I never hear that duh-da-dum-dee-da-dah-dum again, it will be too soon.

Which sucks, because I did like the movies, especially since they gloss over all the trudging that’s in the book…

Who knew she’d turn into such a fan-girl?

Querulous

petulant, peevish, pettish, complaining, fractious, fretful, irritable, testy, tetchy, cross, snappish, crabby, crotchety, cantankerous, miserable, moody, grumpy, bad-tempered, sullen, sulky, sour, churlish, snappy, grouchy, cranky.

I’m such a wimp

I was a wimp last week. I got better from the swimming (and even returned yesterday — taking it easier, but still…). Today, however, was an even worse experience.

I got shots of steroids in my hip joints. Both of them. The staff all told me that it was like getting a shot at the dentist’s, but what they didn’t say was that it was like getting a shot followed by a chaser in a space not meant to hold that much liquid.

I could use a shot now, I think.

However, I’m resting in bed watching kung-fu movies. Takes my mind off of my own problems, you know? I just finished Kung Fu Hustle; Hero is next. I may take a break with Eddie Izzard…

Jump-starting the holidays

Plagioclase and I went to JoAnn Fabrics Etc. to get some stuff… it was filled to the brim with Hallowe’en decor, most of it pre-made. I understand the need for crafters to get started, but pre-made??

At least it wasn’t christmas cards, which I happened to see at Borders the other day. That’s just sick.

Overheard

“It’s not that I don’t like smart people, I don’t like people who think they’re smart.”
