2004 Graffigna Malbec
Posted in Wine on 02/02/2006 08:23 pm by OrthoclaseOur two-nights-ago offering: 2004 Graffigna Malbec, an Argentine red from San Juan ($9.99).
From the label:
An appealing red wine with masses of sweet black cherry and plum fruit finished with ripe rounded tannins and a twist of spice. This medium-bodied example of Argentina’s signature grape is great with char-grills, hearty casseroles and minced meat dishes. Best enjoyed within 2-3 years of vintage.
From my tastebuds:
Very fruity, and kind of soft feeling. It was ok with spaghetti, and probably would have been better with a dish that didn’t have so much tomato.
I really like the malbecs I’ve tried, so I wasn’t surprised to like this one too. We’ll probably get a few more bottles of it.
